Honour and Respect

Today I am grateful for the morals and values my parents instilled in me. Even though sometimes they had to be harsh while teaching me, today it seems to be worth it paying off.

I am now an honourable person who treats others with respect just because they are mere human beings created by God to be valued and appreciated.

Recently I asked someone who had arrived an hour and a half late to an appointment if they were not taught punctuality. Somehow this person was offended of which I did not understand why.

Because to me, arriving on time to appointments shows honour. And for the life of me I do not understand why anybody wouldn’t want to be honourable. But I guess, we are not all the same in life, and because of that we do not all respect each other the same way.

Today’s world is unfortunately full of selfish people who only want to please themselves and as long as they are satisfied, to hell with the others. They do not care how their actions affect you whatsoever because at the end of the day, it is all about them.

What boggles my mind though is how disrespectful such people can be. I mean why can you not respect others just because they are human beings?? What’s so painful about that??

I guess I can say such people do not deserve my respect. And unfortunately with me, this kind of respect lost cannot be earned back.

Treat others how you want to be treated yourself. As kind hearted as I am, do not be surprised when I turn that knife you are pointing at my heart towards you.
